Porter James Oldham has arrived!

All went well for Megan and Porter. He weighed 9lbs. 3oz. and was 20" long.
The new family of four. Aren't they the cutest family you have ever seen. Porter was so beautiful and it was such a treat to get to hold him. Good job Megan! (I hope you don't care I made a post about your big day. I couldn't wait to show everyone how cute your little guy is.)
All of Porter's hospital fans.
The proud Grandparents with their 20th grandchild.

Dreaming of warm days!

I miss warm weather and home made ice cream. When is the sun going to come again?

The competition is on......

On Christmas Eve we made gingerbread houses. The teams were Eric and Gilbert against everyone else. We had no idea what they were doing, but this is how theirs turned out. Now honestly whose looks better? I do have to say this for them though, the inside was pretty spectacular. It had tile, a fire place, Mrs. Clause, and a self portrait of Eric. We had lots of fun! Jim did the frosting while Megan and Melinda decorated the coordinating looking candy. Bennion and Gene Boy did the other candy and I did the red frosting. This was actually my first time ever making a gingerbread house.

Bad timing huh?

Okay so I have been really wanting to change my background. I was changing it around for fun to see how some of them looked and I got stuck with this one. I can't wait to change it.

We made 100% whole wheat bread for FHE!

We got a wheat grinder from my parents and Gilbert couldn't wait to put it to use. He got out a can of our wheat from our food storage and got to work. I wasn't too excited to do it right then but he thought it would be a great family home evening. He pretty much did everything himself until it came to the cinnamon rolls.
The beautiful dough.
I had to teach Gilbert how to get all the bubbles out, and make it pretty.

When I was rolling out the dough for the cinnamon rolls Gilbert asked me if I wanted some help. I told him I needed it a 1/2 inch thick and he started throwing it all over. It was fun to watch some skills I had not seen before and he made it perfectly even to a 1/2 inch thick. I was impressed.

I know they don't look like much, but they were so yummy!
Our bread didn't turn out too bad either. It had really good flavor, but it was a little on the heavier side. The inside wasn't heavy at all, it was just the crust. Since it was our first time using the mill I don't think it was worn down enough to give us some really fine flour. All in all Gilbert did an awesome job making bread for the first time.

Good or Bad?

I had my sister, Melinda, cut and color my hair, because she came up from AZ for Christmas. I was so excited to finally cut it all off. We ended up cutting off thirteen inches and I have a ponytail to donate to Locks of Love. (I have never actually donated my own hair before.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

I know I am a little behind, but still the same, I hope your new year is going well. I am so glad Gilbert and I were able to start off this year right..... with a new year's kiss and fireworks and all!

Fun in the SNOW!

Andrew got to play in the snow for the very first time. He loved it so much. He never wanted to get out of the sled. The only thing he didn't like was touching it.

"I know these people!"

I am so lucky to be related to such talented people. Andrew and I were able to go the Melinda and her kid's recital while we were visiting for the holidays. They are so good at what they do. It was so fun to listen.

My Grandma Smith turned 80 on December 25, 2008. She is a twin and lots of my family were able to drive up to Idaho together to celebrate the occasion. There were  a total of fifty people there and our family made up thirty of the fifty. It was so awesome! I love being with family!
My grandparents always get all dressed up when they leave the house, even if it is to go to the laundromat. I love their style. I think maybe I should acquire some of my grandma's taste. Look at that necklace.
